Fort macon beach not only is a location that preserves the history of the civil war, but is a place with abundant life and interesting landscape. The beach itself stretches for miles along the Atlantic coast. Beyond the beach lies the vast Atlantic Ocean. On the backside of the beach are a series of sand dunes. Because of the foreign landscape, we learned a lot from studying this area and visiting here definitely expanded what we knew about The Atlantic Coast.
