The Appalachians

Over the Field Ecology trip, our school stayed in a very small part of the Appalachians in North Carolina. During our time in the Appalachians, we visited Black Balsam Knob, Fontana Lake, and the Nantahala Outdoor Center. The Appalachians are a mountain range that expand for about 2000 miles. They were extremely important to the development of the whole continent, and are an extreme attraction to America. Our work in the Appalachians have helped us grow as scientists, and have developed a true understanding of our specific fields.
